Chronicling a Cambodian Survivor’s Journey to American Freedom

Just In – The Muckrakers September 25, 2023

We often hear stories of valor, resilience, and triumph that appear so extraordinary, they sound like tales conjured from the annals of mythology. Yet, sometimes, these stories are profoundly real, resonating on a deeply human level. This is the kind of story that I am both honored and humbled to tell. A story that transgresses the boundaries of nations, ideologies, and even time itself, to offer a testament to the indomitable spirit of one woman—a survivor of geopolitical cataclysm who rebuilt her life from the ground up in the United States, the land of the free because of the brave.

My dear friend, who wishes to remain anonymous at this time, has granted me the amazing and rare privilege of narrating her life’s journey. Given the complexity, depth, and nuance of her experiences, we’ve decided to immortalize her tale in the form of a biography.

In light of this monumental undertaking, I wish to inform my good friends, readers, and listeners that all scheduled podcasts and frequent blog updates will be postponed until the completion of this book. While I understand this might be disappointing to some, I assure you that the story we’re about to delve into is one that necessitates undivided attention.

On that note, all posts and podcasts moving forward will require a paid subscription. Your contribution will help Loop Media Group, Inc. to tell stories like this to the world so that we can all learn from each other’s experiences.

In today’s information-rich world, where we are bombarded with headlines, sound bites, and 280-character tweets, it’s increasingly difficult to find a space where we can engage with ideas in a thoughtful and nuanced manner. This is where Just In Muckraker’s Substack comes in as an essential resource for anyone who values in-depth analysis on philosophy, culture, and the far-reaching impacts of decisions—whether they be political, social, or ethical.
